Tony's Picture
Tony Fell

Fourth Degree black belt (Yondan)

Started study of Karate in Jan. 1984

Student Seniority Ranking: #3

Key word: Consistency

Tony arrived at Neil Dunnigan's with martial arts experience, having previously earned his green belt in Tae Kwon Do.  He was giving serious thought to reinvolvement with the martial arts  when he saw a local television special on karate, featuring Sensei Dunnigan and his school.  Tony recounts being so impressed that he joined the school the next day.  It's a spontaneous act that he has never regretted!

Tony says that his commitment to study has been sustained over the years by the fact that he is still actively learning, enjoys the people at the dojo and feels healthy as he maintains a good fitness level.  Although Tony is our most senior black belt in terms of age (50+), his karate reflects not age, but maturity in his understanding and practice of this art form.  Professionally, this quiet and unassuming main is the Co-ordinator of the Information Management and Library Technology Program at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton.  He teaches at the college with his wife Joan who attained her first-degree black belt at the dojo.  Being an educator through and through, Tony always seeks a deeper understanding of karate, something which his strengthened by teaching regularly at the dojo.  All who experience Tony's presence at the dojo are quickly engaged by his friendliness, quick wit and love of karate.  We are very fortunate and proud to have him as a pillar in our school.
